Carol H. Solomon Named DVEA Entrepreneur of the Year 2009
CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY - The Delaware Valley Entrepreneur Awards proudly presented its Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2009 to the founder of CHS Geriatric Care, Carol H. Solomon. Since 1992, Ms. Solomon has led CHS Geriatric Care in its work with the elderly, working tirelessly with families dealing with the emotional decisions affecting the lives of their loved ones.

Created by a coalition of South Jersey business owners and entrepreneurs, including founding sponsor PromotionUltraSource.com of Cherry Hill, the Delaware Valley Entrepreneur Awards was launched to showcase diverse entrepreneurship throughout the region.

Ms. Solomon was one of 10 regional entrepreneurs recognized at an awards reception in early November. The Burlington County Chamber of Commerce, South Jersey Biz Buzz and Southern New Jersey Business People, a monthly publication covering regional business newsmakers, all supported and participated in the DVEA awards event which recognized Ms. Solomon as the Delaware Valley's leading entrepreneur for 2009.
"It is so important to encourage those willing to take a chance at any time not just during periods of down economy. Today's business giants were once small business and entrepreneurs with a dream. We need to cultivate tomorrow's success stories by supporting today's entrepreneurs," reports Kristi M. Howell-Ikeda, President & CEO, Burlington County Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Solomon received her BA from Long Island University. She is a Certified Social Worker, Certified Care Manager and Certified Demential Practitioner. She is also a past president of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and is the president and founder of Network Connections of South Jersey. Ms. Solomon was instrumental in starting The Senior Education and Research Board and the Caregivers Advisory Board, which provides resources, option and awareness for families of seniors or disabled adults through education.

“Out of the slow recovery from the depths of a poor economic time, emerges a strong and ambitious leader - the entrepreneur," reports Pamela R. Henshall, president and CEO of BIZ BUZZ, Inc., the parent company of South Jersey Biz Buzz. "By definition, the entrepreneur is a person who assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and outcome, and is vitally important in a capitalistic society - an entrepreneur creatively identifies opportunity to overcome economic change.”
